ModafinilCat Review 2026: Is The Revived Site Legit?
History and current status, checked 8 October 2026The original shop had closed by 28 September 2016. In 2026 its name is back on new websites. This page sets out what the public record shows and who appears to run the revived .com site. It also covers what to check before ordering modafinil online from any shop using the old name.
The Short Answer: Is ModafinilCat Back?
The name is back. The original shop is not. It had closed by 28 September 2016.[1] Today modafinilcat.com runs a working store, but nothing public ties it to the people who ran the old one. Its menus, catalogue and checkout pages match duckdose.net. They also match a Eufinil-branded shop on one of its own subdomains. One operator appears to run all three.[2] Treat it as a new, unproven vendor. I have not placed a test order with it.
I have followed this market since 2014. Nothing on this page comes from a test order with the revived site. Every factual claim below links to a source you can check.
What Was ModafinilCat? Generic Modafinil from India
ModafinilCat, sometimes searched as Modafinil Cat, was an online retailer. It sold generic modafinil and armodafinil made by Indian pharmaceutical companies. Modafinil is a prescription drug first used for narcolepsy and shift-work sleep problems. Many buyers took it as a nootropic.[1] For a few years this was one of the best-known places to buy modafinil online. A November 2015 review on Freedom and Fulfilment, a site that earned commission from the shop, describes four products:[1]
- Modalert: generic modafinil by Sun Pharma (Sun Pharmaceutical Industries)
- Modvigil: generic modafinil by HAB Pharma
- Waklert: generic armodafinil by Sun Pharma
- Artvigil: generic armodafinil by HAB Pharma
The same review lists the terms that made the shop popular. It offered free shipping with package tracking and a full refund policy. It took Visa, Mastercard or Bitcoin, with 10% off for returning customers and a 20% Bitcoin discount. Those were the shop's terms in 2015, as reported by an affiliate. They tell you nothing about anyone using the name today.
Why Did ModafinilCat Shut Down?
Nobody from the original team has said publicly. The closure note I can find was added to that review on 28 September 2016. It says only that the shop had closed down.[1] My read is that card-processor pressure on offshore pharmacies was the likely cause. I set that out in the DuckDose review. It is not confirmed.
Two later stories compete. The revived site tells its own story at the bottom of its homepage and About page. It says the domain "was seized by the FBI" and came back on one condition: "No direct sales".[2] A 2024 post on modafinil.org says the opposite: "No, it wasn't the FBI". It was published with permission from the owners of the ModafinilXL group. It blames an extortionist who took control of several vendors' domains.[5] Neither cites a court record or a seizure notice, and I found none. None of these explanations is confirmed.
It does fit a wider pattern. Most of the first wave of modafinil shops closed between 2016 and 2019. This one went first, then DuckDose and AfinilExpress a few years later. The full list is in Titans of Modafinil.
Who Runs the ModafinilCat Domain Now?
I checked the live sites on 8 October 2026 and saved copies of each page.[2] Here is what they show.
- The .com site is a working store titled "Buy Modafinil Online [No Rx] with Fast Shipping". A heading at the bottom of its homepage reads "The Legend Returns: ModafinilCat is Back". The copy under it says "Finding a reliable Modafinil supplier today feels like navigating a minefield" and then "We know. We lived it." No person is named. A block lower down says customers now get "fast delivery" from "the best in the business, not directly from us". Yet the same site runs its own cart and checkout.
- Its menu uses the same page addresses as duckdose.net, including /store/, /refund-reshipment/, /bitcoin-crypto/ and /usa-domestic-usps-delivery/. 32 of the menu links match exactly, label and address.
- Both sites run the same theme and sell the same catalogue at the same price ranges. Modvigil with US domestic delivery is listed at $299 to $399 on each.
- A subdomain of the same domain, afinilexpress, runs a third copy of the store. It is branded Eufinil, and its social tags point at eufinil.com.
- The blog on the .com site compares the shop with ModafinilXL and asks "Ever wondered which e-pharmacy delivers the best shopping experience?". Another post is titled "Is ModafinilCat Pharmacy a Scam?". A shop answering that question about itself is not independent evidence.
On 30 August 2026 the duckdose.net canonical tag pointed at that subdomain. I noted this in the DuckDose review. By 8 October it pointed at duckdose.net itself. The shared menus, theme and catalogue are still there. My read: one operator now trades under the ModafinilCat, DuckDose, AfinilExpress and Eufinil names. Three of those belonged to shops that closed years ago.
modafinilcat.org is a different site. It runs a different theme, offers a 25% Bitcoin discount and does not share the menus above. Two unrelated sites cannot both be the original shop.
Is ModafinilCat Safe and Legit?
Unproven. That is not the same as a scam, and I will not call it one without evidence. Here is what I can point to:
- Gridinsoft's automated scanner gives the domain a trust score of 9/100 and labels it a suspicious website. Its last check was on 14 June 2026. That is their rating, not mine.[3]
- Gridinsoft lists the domain as registered on 4 September 2020, four years after the original shop closed.[3]
- The relaunch story comes from the shop itself. No one from the original team has confirmed a handover.
- I have not placed a test order, so I cannot speak to delivery, packaging or product quality.
A legitimate vendor shows its own record. A logo from a decade ago is not a record.
What About modafinilcat.co and modafinilcat.net?
Earlier versions of this page warned about these two domains. On 8 October 2026 neither one answered a request.[2] A dead brand still attracts lookalikes, so check the exact domain before you enter card details.
Free Shipping, Secure Payment and Prescription Claims
These are the revived site's own statements from its homepage on 8 October 2026. I have not verified any of them.[2]
- Free shipping on every order, plus US domestic delivery by USPS Priority Mail in 3 to 4 days. It promises you will never "worry about package seizures again".
- International shipments from India, and domestic delivery inside the United Kingdom, Australia and the EU. The same page also says the shop operates "entirely within the USA".
- Secure payment methods: major credit cards, PayPal (where available), Zelle, ACH, Bill Pay, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency. Crypto gets 20% off at checkout.
- 20 free pills with every order, and bulk discounts from 300 pills. The products are listed under "Nootropics".
- Modalert, Modvigil, Waklert and Artvigil, with "no prescription required". Another homepage section calls the shop "your trusted source for generic modafinil".
A credit card gives you a chargeback route if a shipment never arrives or customs seize it. A crypto transfer does not. If you try any unproven pharmacy, start with a small order on a card.
Ordering Modafinil Online: What to Check First
The same checks apply to any shop, old name or new:
- Domain age. A WHOIS lookup shows when the domain was registered. A shop claiming a long history on a young site needs a closer look.
- Who runs it. A trustworthy shop names a company and a contact address. Shared templates across several brand names are a warning sign, not proof.
- Independent reviews. Reviews on the shop's own blog do not count. Look for dated reviews on sites the seller does not control.
- Payment route. Use a card for a first order so you keep a chargeback option.
- The pack itself. When it arrives, check that the maker, strength and batch number on the blister match what you ordered.
None of this proves legitimacy on its own. Together it separates a shady shop from one with a record you can check.
Is It Legal to Buy Modafinil Online?
It depends on where you live. In the United States, modafinil is a Schedule IV controlled substance under the Controlled Substances Act.[4] Most other countries treat it as a prescription-only medication. A shop that sells without asking for a prescription leaves the legal risk with you. Check your country in the modafinil legal status guide before ordering.
Modafinil vs Armodafinil: Modalert 200mg vs Waklert 150mg
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved modafinil in 1998 under the brand name Provigil. It is a 50/50 mix of two mirror-image forms of the same molecule. Armodafinil is the longer-acting R-form on its own, so a smaller dose gives a similar effect.[1] That is why Waklert and Artvigil usually come as 150mg tablets while Modalert and Modvigil come as 200mg. For a side-by-side look at the brands, see the Modalert 200 guide. This page is a review, not medical or legal advice. Talk to a doctor before taking either.
Where to Look Instead
I will not send you to the revived shop. If you want a vendor with a current BuyModa listing, ModafinilOwl is on the list. On BuyModa's vendor list it ships to the US, UK, EU and Australia. The list also shows card and crypto payments and maker records. That is listing information, not a result from a test order for this page.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is ModafinilCat ever coming back?
The original team has not announced a return. Two sites use the name in 2026, the .com and the .org. Neither has shown that it is run by the people who closed the shop in 2016.
Is modafinilcat.com a scam?
I do not know, and I will not guess. Gridinsoft rates it 9/100 and calls it suspicious. Its menus and catalogue match duckdose.net. I have not placed a test order, so treat it as unproven.
Is it the same shop as DuckDose?
The two sites share menu addresses, theme and product price ranges. A subdomain of the .com also runs a Eufinil-branded copy of the same store. That points to one operator behind several old brand names. See the DuckDose review.
Is BuyModa connected to any of these sites?
No. BuyModa is an independent review site. It does not sell modafinil and has no link to any of these sites. Some vendor links on this page earn a commission.
